As Zambian DNA, we are deeply concerned by UPND’s attempt to peddle falsehoods about PF’s adopted parliamentary candidate for Mangango Constituency Godwin Putu, that he is not eligible to contest the said seat.

However, we are shocked that the opposition UPND can suggest that a prominent and eminent lawyer who is PF Party President and also the Republican President Edgar Chagwa Lungu can endorse the candidature of a person who is not eligible can contest on the Ruling Party.

We are alive to the fact that the said Godwin Putu was adopted by UPND as Mangango parliamentary candidate somewhere in 2014 and lost to PF’s Hon Lingweshi, and we aware that had Putu not defected to PF, he would have been adopted by UPND to contest the Mangango seat.

We advise opposition UPND to be sincere and honest in their conduct, and not to play DOUBLE STANDARD politics of mud slinging, character assassination and cheap political expedience.

We also call upon the UPND leadership to stop whining all the time and concentrate on selling their adopted Mangango candidate, and leave PF’s Godwin Putu alone as he is no longer their member.
