The Ministry of General Education and the Examinations Council of Zambia have resolved to ensure that the Grade 7 and 12 Examinations be written as per the schedule, a source at the ECZ has disclosed.
It has also been resolved that with the exception of Mathematics Paper 2 which was nullified on Tuesday, all the prepared Grade 9 Papers will a not be nullified but only the dates on which to be written will be changed.
The source added that the new paper for Grade 9 Mathematics Paper 2 will be written on 2nd November 2018, Friday.
The source said although investigations have revealed that nearly all the papers for Grade 9 and 12 Examinations have leaked, the ECZ will not nullify the entire examination because the government has no money to re-run the exams. The source added that no exam papers for Grade 7 have been leaked yet but there is clear evidence that all the Grade 9 and 12 exam papers for 2018 have been leaked the police and OP have failed to establish the source of the leakages because all schools have intact exam papers.
The ECZ nullified Grade 9 Mathematics Paper Two after it was published on social media forcing the Ministry of General Education to temporally suspend the Grade 7, 9 and 12 Exams.
The source said the new resolutions pertaining the fate of this year’s exams are expected to be announced on 26th October 2018, Friday.
