FIFA’s FAZ Funding Cut Not a Surprise – Siwale

BLACKWELL Siwale says FIFA’s cutting of funds to FAZ have been necessitated by the happenings at Football House in the past two years.
Siwale, a FAZ presidential hopeful, said FIFA’s actions were not surprising to him given the background of the happenings at FAZ.
“Whatever wrong FIFA has seen at FAZ must have been from the past two years. That is why they have cut funding now. They are saying they have just restructured the funding but information has it that they have cut funding,” Siwale said.
“Anyway, it does not come as a surprise because our patron, the Republican President, was the first to raise the red flag on misappropriation of funds. He said it on the quality of jerseys and the engagement of other manufacturers. This is alarming because Andrew is a member of the ethics committee but FIFA has gone ahead to cut the funding. Tell me now, who is scaring away potential sponsors now, me who is alleged to have gotten financial documents illegally or Andrew?”
FAZ general secretary Adrian Kashala revealed that FIFA had restructured the dishing out of the annual grant.
The decision was arrived at after observing some irregularities in financial application at the FA by the world football governing body after an audit.
