TWO boys have died while 39 others have been admitted to Namatama Health Post in Livingstone for suspected typhoid which broke out during a circumcision camp.
Typhoid is a bacterial infection that can lead to high fever, diarrhoea and vomiting. It can be fatal.
Livingstone district health director Tino Miselo said the 39 boys are being observed at the health centre. They are aged between 10 and 20.
Dr Miselo could not confirm the death of the two boys but said the outbreak of the disease is suspected to have been as a result of lack of hygiene at the camp.
