After being in marriage for barely two months, a woman of Mansa has sued her husband for divorce because his manhood allegedly disappears at midnight. Chomba Bwalya wants to divorce her husband because he allegedly wants her to be in the same spirit with him and bear him a child in the spirit where he is a prince.
This was heard before senior local court magistrate Leorntina Zaloumis and magistrate Margarete Sakalimba in a case in which Bwalya sued Allan Mwila for divorce. Bwalya said her husband married her this year in August, and on their first night, at midnight, she touched his manhood and discovered that there was nothing.
“From the first day of our marriage, at any other time, I see my husband’s manhood but it disappears at midnight. My husband also changes how he looks and talks for almost an hour every night,” she said. She said her husband tells her that if she does not give him a child in the spirit, they will never have a child in the flesh.
Bwalya said her husband accuses her of sleeping with any man she comes across, even her own brothers. She said her husband does not allow her to go to church and when she does, he goes to insult the pastor. And Mwila said the following day after he married his wife, he checked his wife’s phone and found love messages from another man. He said his wife mocks him of being a short and poor man and has no respect for him.
In her findings, magistrate Sakalimba noted that there was GBV in the marriage
