POLICE in Ndola have summoned UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to report himself for investigations at Copperbelt Division headquarters on Wednesday next week.
A police callout dated November 9 seen by The Mast indicates that Hichilema should present himself at 09:00 hours.
“You are requested to report yourself to Zambia Police Copperbelt Division headquarters, Ndola, on 14/11/2018 at 09:00 hours for the purpose of investigations. You will not be kept longer than absolutely necessary,” according to the callout signed by Gloria C. Mulele, deputy division Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO).
Earlier, Hichilema said no amount of threats would shake and stop him from speaking the truth.
In a press statement titled “get ready for anything but HH not shaken” by his deputy press secretary Brian Mwiinga, Hichilema “is actually 10 times stronger.”
Mwiinga’s statement was a reaction to growing, veiled machinations by the State to arrest Hichilema on allegations that he incited some Kitwe residents to riot last week – to protest the supposed sale of Zambia Forestry and Forest Industries Corporation (ZAFFICO).
“I can state that the president is safe and no amount of threats will shake him and stop him from speaking the truth, he is actually 10 times stronger,” stated Mwiinga.
“Like he said yesterday (on Thursday); even if they arrest him, that won’t grow our country’s economy or indeed stop the uncoordinated PF leadership’s corruption and tyranny reasoning. In fact, they will just further annoy the country.”
