Imenda Counsels5 Kapeso

United Party for the National Development(UPND) Deputy Secretary General(DSG) Getrude Imenda says newly appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police Bonnie Kapeso should be professional and not behave like a Patriotic Front(PF) cadre.
And Ms Imenda says if the level playing field will be free and fair then the UPND will successfully defend it Mangongo Constituency seat in the forthcoming by-elections.
Speaking in an interview in Lusaka, Ms Imenda said Mr Kapeso should be seen to be protecting the interests of citizens and not politicians.
He said the new Deputy IG should defend the Constitution and ensure that the interests of Zambians are protected at all cost. She said the UPND does not want the IG to be a bootlicker of the ruling party.
“I want to appeal to the new IG of Police Mr Bonny Kapeso to be professional at all times and serve the interests of the people. He should not be cadre,” Ms Imenda said.
She added: “Mr Kapeso should bear in mind that he is not the first IG Zambia has had or neither is he the last. We have had very good IGs like that man who had biblical names, Empraim Mateyo, ” Ms Imenda said
And reacting to UPPZ’s statement that the PF has sent the entire Intercity Bus Terminus battalion to Mangango to cause confusions ahead of the by-election, Ms Imenda said the PF should just play clean politics.
He wondered why the PF has continued to indulge in violence despite the Secretary Davis Mwila signing a Peace Accord with the UPND youths.
“Immediatery I saw how Mwila bosterously arrived at the meeting with that person who was taking photographs, I left the place because I knew that it was not going to yield any results and true to my words, the PF have continued using violent means in an effort to win elections,” he said.
Ms Imenda said the police should confisticate guns and teargas from PF cadres.
And Ms Imenda said it is illogical for the PF Government to spend colossal amounts of money on tear gas in the next budget charging that they want to supply as many teargas to their unruly cadres as the case is in Mangongo
“…However, the UPND will retain the Mangango seat if the field is level,” Ms Imelda said.
