Another UNZA Student Docked for Marijuana Trafficking

BARELY two months after a University of Zambia (UNZA) student was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment for trafficking in marijuana, another learner from the same institution has pleaded guilty to trafficking in 512 grammes of the illicit drug.
Yesterday, 23-year-old Cacious Mukabe, a first-year student in the School of Education, appeared before Lusaka magistrate Ireen Wishimanga on a charge of trafficking in psychotropic substances.
On October 16 this year, Mukabe of Kwacha Hostel at UNZA, trafficked in 512 grammes of marijuana without lawful authority.
After the charge was read out to him, Mukabe said he understood it and admitted committing the offence.
