Zambian DNA is elated that the ruling PF, unlike in the past when they had no representation in Parliament from Western Province, has now an area Member of Parliament (MP) in the name of Godwin Putu in Mangango.
It’s also gratifying to note that Mangango will not only serve as PF’s inroad into UPND’s strongholds, represent the people of Western Province in Parliament, but also accelerate Government‘s development agenda of the constituency and the entire Province.
However, Western Province, like many other Provinces in Zambia with opposition MPS who do not want to work with Government, have lagged behind in development because their area MPs or representatives are puffed up with partisan attitude towards Government.
It’s worth noting that MPs are elected to represent the people’s interest to Government, and not for their area MPs to fight and frustrate Government‘s development agenda.
For example, Western Province has lagged behind in development because opposition MPs have hindered the process of development by fighting Government instead of helping Government in delivering development in their respective areas.
In view of the forgoing, we urge the people of Western Province to realize that the opposition MPS have absolutely nothing to offer them as they are only interested in their personal gain at their expense.
Further, the people of Western Province have been offered another opportunity in Sesheke to choose to work with Government in delivering development as they did recently in Mangango.
More so, President Edgar Lungu and the PF Government has rolled out unprecedented massive infrastructure developmental projects in Western Province than previous Governments such as creation of new districts, construction of health facilities and schools as well as the multi-million dollar Cashew nut project and many others.
We are appealing to the people of Western Province in general and Sesheke in particular to choose representatives who will work with Government in delivering development in their respective constituencies.
