Chilufya Tayali’s Apologies.

-President Lungu’s 2021 Eligibility.

A lot of things have happened this week, some good some bad, sadly i couldn’t comment on them due to commitments but I will summarize the four things that made my focus of the week.

1. Kay Figo’s photo. Singer, Cynthia kayula Bwalya whose not so new to controversy is back at again, in her usual fashion with a photo online in which she fondly spread her legs with no underwear on but a hand only covering her private part.

Reports indicate that police have summoned her and she faces arrest for her display. Well, I understand what Kay is up to, creating controversy to stay relevant in an industry she has failed to make it in but I don’t agree it is the right way to musical relevance. The opposite is true that she has lost both fans and respect for her act, the sooner she publicly apologizes the better, and as for the police they are right in their intent to arrest her as her display is not any different from so many p0rn0graph1c cases we have had that have landed others in trouble.

2. Teacher Chisanga Zulu. Losing Lusaka Mayoral candidate and ex Shatel member, Saboi Imboela took and posted a picture of a Solwezi rural-based teacher, Chisanga Zulu teaching with a baby on her back purported to have been a sibling for one of her pupils who had missed school for so long because she had to stay home to look after it, Ms Zulu took over the duty of babysitting so that her pupil would be in school and attend class.

Well, one can’t do any better than this in the civil service with low salaries and poor conditions of service, such dedication and attitude should be lauded by everyone.Just as the police woman was promoted for working in rains, the Head of the Ministry of Education in North Western Province should find a way to reward the aforesaid teacher as such action will prompt many other civil servants in different departments to go a mile longer in discharging their duties.

3. Chilufya Tayali’s Apologies. I have been critical of Tayali’s kind of politics, especially his constant attacks on Hakainde Hichilema and his colleagues in the UPND just the same way I have been of Larry Mweetwa and Mwamba Payne’s even when I have never bothered to correct them. Well we seem to be over that phase as both Tayali and Larry have publicly apologized with many questioning the former’s apology especially having made it after bailiffs pounced in him for a credit of about K87,000 he owed a Mr Kaweche Banda.

Like many others I cast a doubt on his genuineness but I give him a benefit of doubt considering he has gone miles to reconcile with so many people he offended, HH, GBM, Given Lubinda, Kambwili and many others, and instead of demonizing him we should laud him and encourage others to emulate him so we can all practice civil politics from now henceforth.

4. President Edgar Lungu’s eligibility. I had an article published on this subject in 2017 and my views were according to the current outcome of the ConCourt, and that he is eligible to contest the 2021 elections according to our amended constitution.

I dont want to dwell on the technicality of the arguments since a ruling has been made and there won’t be a reversal, the opposition can do nothing but re-organize and re-strategize to face a known candidate.To me there is more to decampaign President Lungu than a newer candidate in the PF, yesterday’s court ruling could work to the opposition’s advantage if well handled.
