NEWLY elected Patriotic Front Kitwe chairman Evaristo Chilufya says he will work to reunite all PF members who broke away from the ruling party during the intra-party elections. During a press briefing yesterday, Chilufya, who is also Kitwe City Council’s deputy mayor, said his task now would be to bring back all PF members who lost elections and ensure peace and unity in the party.
“As we are speaking to the people, we need to ensure that we are united and that we have reconciled because we need a party that will stand in oneness so that PF in Kitwe can grow,” he said.
He advised members not to fight each other as they were all PF members who had a mandate to safeguard the party at all structures. Chilufya said his job would be based on party mobilisation in readiness for the 2021 general elections. He said his executive’s duty would be to sell the party.
“My duty is to make sure that we grow the party by mobilising and ensuring that we attract people to join so that we are not given a hard time during elections because we already have a President who has been cleared already,” said Chilufya.
