The construction of the nine million dollar Musakashi irrigation scheme funded by the World Bank in Mufulira district in the Copperbelt province has stalled.
And Director of Agriculture in the scheme is disappointing.
Mr. Lungu says the project should have been completed last year but the contractor was unable to do so and asked for an extension which was granted.
He said despite the extension, little progress has been made.
Mr. Lungu said it was disappointing to note that local contractors had the habit of abrogating contractual obligations.
A check by the National Agricultural Information Services -NAIS- showed that there was no activity at the site.
