UPPZ President Charles Chanda has advised the National not to take the Christian Nation declaration lightly, for it is a foundation of true joy and happiness during the festival season and the good prospects of 2019.
In a Christmas message, President Chanda cautioned political party leaders and the citizenry at large against ignoring the fact that Zambia is a Christian Nation.
The UPPZ leader observes that civil servants such as the police, Zampost workers and some miners may not have real cause to be happy during this festive season due to the many challenges they are faced with.
He advised the nation to remain focused and hopeful as the message of Christmas is a message of restoration and hope especial to a country that was declared a Christian nation.

“We are among a few countries that have made a public declaration that we are a Christian nation. Those that have been seeking to becoming leaders at some day, you cannot ignore the fact that this country was declared a Christian nation. This is where perhaps I may have an advantage over a number of candidates because I have an understanding of what the declaration of being Christian nation is about. Christmas is centered on the good news of the birth of Jesus Christ who is the source of joy and happiness.’’ said Mr. Chanda.
The UPPZ President notes that the country is lacking the aspect of joy and happiness as civil servant and citizens are passing through a tough time due to failure by political leaders to take cognizant of the plight of Zambians.
