Zambian DNA welcomes calls by State House for an inquiry into the privatisation of parastatal companies.

Indeed, we feel that this is the right time for the nation to know what really transpired in the privatisation of public enterprises that resulted in job losses, as many of our people ended up living in destitution and absolute squalor.

We are however elated that State House has explained to the nation, the role that President Edgar Lungu played in the privatisation process of Keembe Storage, where the Head of State was negotiating chairman but did not sell that one item to himself, his relatives or friends.

However, we are alive to the fact that there were other people, who played a major role in the privatisation process of public enterprises, such as a named opposition political party leader who is said to have benefited immensely from the said privatisation process.

We are demanding to know the whole gospel truth of the role played by the said opposition political party leader and how the assets were indeed disposed of.

In view of the foregoing, The Zambian DNA fully supports calls by State House for a probe and forensic investigation into the privatisation process of parastatal companies.
