LUANSHYA Mayor Nathan Chanda was on Saturday elected the new Patriotic Front (PF) Copperbelt Province chairman after beating his sole rival Mike Manda by 25 votes during the provincial conference.
Mr Chanda polled 243 votes against 218 votes garnered by Mr Manda.
His deputy is Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kang’ombe who got 233 ballots, four better than Frank Ng’ambi.
Earlier, President Edgar Lungu said the governing party has given a rebirth to democracy.
