A married man of Mansa has narrated before the local court how his wife of 11 years denies him conjugal rights and tells him that nights are for sleeping when he tries to get intimate with her. Appearing before senior local court magistrate Leorntina Zaloumis was John Sakala, who sued Mary Chomba for divorce.
They got married in 2007 and have three children together and bride price was paid. He said problems in his marriage started when his wife suddenly changed her behaviour .Sakala said his wife stopped cooking for him and did not regard him as the man of the house. “I spend my entire day at work and when I try to touch my wife in the night, she says nights are for resting and sleeping,” he said.
He said he has not touched his wife for eight months and begged the court to grant divorce as his wife no longer regards him as her husband.
And Chomba accused her husband of having extra-marital affairs and that he does not support his family financially. She said her husband spends most of his time with his girlfriends and not his family.
Chomba said her husband has no respect for her and insults her in the presence of their children. Magistrate Zaloumis adjourned the case.
