Statement On National Dialogue

The Zambian DNA is deeply concerned with the National Dialogue Process which got off a very disjointed start without the Head of State being officially invited and the tug-of-war between the three Church Mother Bodies and the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue. We are wondering why there is too much acrimony between the Three Church Mother Bodies and ZCID. They don’t seem to agree on anything. The Church is pulling this side and ZCID is pulling the other side, so we are wondering what is going on. We are beginning to get a feeling that there is a hiden agenda behind the National Dialogue process that they intend to use the process to undermine those in Government. We are alive to the ill-conceived opposition political alliance with a sole purpose of wrestling power from President Edgar Chagwa Lungu. The same opposition alliance are the ones that are agitating that ZCID has no part to play in the dialogue process. We are wondering what the motive of the opposition alliance and Church is.The dialogue is supposed to unite the country over issues that divided the nation over the years, mainly, the electoral process. Those who feel that they can look at it and discuss it for the better as well as the Public Orders Act(POA) and many other issues we have been talking about . It is not meant to prop-up one opposition leader or advocate for regime change. The National Dialogue is meant to unite the nation, work together and ensure the development of this  and ensure that no one is left behind in the democratisation of this country. We urge those who are in charge namely the Three Church Mother Bodies and the ZCID to get together and ensure that the Dialogue Process   ills  the nation.
