A Lusaka Police officer charged with manslaughter has been found with a case to answer.
Clifford Mukonka 47 has been consequently put on his defence by Lusaka High Court Judge Catherine Phiri.
Judge Phiri passed the verdict after the arresting officer Assistant Superintendent Edward Mambwe of Lusaka Force Headquarters concluded his testimony in the matter.
Mr. Mukonka is scheduled to open his defence on January 17,2019.
He is alleged to have negligently caused the death of his fellow Police officer Geoffrey Banda on October 25, 2016 in Chongwe on the Great East Road.
Mr Banda, who was based in Eastern Province was shot dead by Mr. Mukonka while two other Police officers on board from Eastern Province sustained injuries.
This was after Mr. Mukonka who was manning a check point on the Great East Road opened fire upon allegedly suspecting Mr. Banda and two other police officers of being criminals.
The incidence occurred a few metres from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport Roundabout on the Greatest Road.
