PF At the Blink of Death In E/Province

UPND national youth information and publicity secretary Samuel Ngwira says it is shocking that people in Lundazi are surviving on wild fruits and mangoes despite the province being full of potential to produce food.

And Ngwira says Patriotic Front in Eastern Province is at the blink of death.

Ngwira said the UPND were sympathising with people of Lundazi over the problems they were faced with.

“The heartbeat of the UPND in Eastern Province is sound and alive to issues affecting the general population and us as the national youth wing, we are pleased that the call for change is being driven by young people in Eastern Province as could be seen during the filing in of nominations for Chindabwe ward in Katete and Mukomba ward in Lundazi. We also wish to urge the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to be impartial in conducting the elections so that results can reflect the will of the people,” Ngwira said.

He also urged the police service to be professional in their handling of political violence and not based on political party affiliation.

“We are aware that PF has the tendency of abusing political power to push their agenda of violence in order to win elections. We urge the Zambia Police Service to deploy enough police officers during the period of campaigns to ensure that peace and order is maintained. They must be professional and operate above board to ensure that all perpetrators of violence are brought to book regardless of their political affiliation,” Ngwira said.
“As far as we are concerned, the Patriotic Front in Eastern Province is at the blink of death and the only thing keeping the party breathing is being in power. To our fellow youths in PF, we warn them to refrain from acts of violence and instead be issue based. People should be told who has destroyed the agriculture sector and delayed to pay farmers in Eastern Province.”

Ngwira further challenged the PF to tell the people who was responsible for their misery.

“People should know who between PF and UPND has forced them to carry a heavy load of unnecessary taxes and subjected them to very poor and impassable feeder roads. It’s shocking that people are surviving on wild-fruits and mangoes in a province with a very good agriculture potential. These campaigns should be issue based according to the aspirations of the people,” said Ngwira.
