Statement On Government Critics

January 22, 2019

Zambian DNA is concerned by the acrimony and hatred being exhibited by some opposition political parties, so called human rights organisations and media houses hostile to government.

Further, the said opposition political parties and their allies have continued spreading falsehoods, promoting hate speech and labeling those in government as corrupt when in fact not.

However, we expect them to respect government decisions and provide checks and balances to government, by offering alternative solutions on critical national issues and not behave like little children throwing and smearing each other with mud at a circus.

We advise the said government critics to tone down their vulgar and foul language against the Republican President and other government officials.

More so, we expect the opposition and their allies to focus their energies and spend time on issues that unite the nation than that which divide the people.

In view of the foregoing, we urge the Zambian people to ignore disgruntled elements who have absolutely nothing to offer and rally behind the able leadership of President Edgar Lungu as he steers the nation to greater heights and prosperity without leaving anyone behind.
