A 63-Year Old man of Mansa has narrated before the local court how a man who impregnated his daughter disrespected him by paying coins amounting to K500 as compensation for damage.

Vinous Mwape described Charles Mubanga’s payment of the money in coins as disrespect to him and his entire family.
Mwape, of Chief Kalasalukangaba in Mansa, is demanding K2,500 from Mubanga as compensation for damaging his daughter’s virginity.
Mwape said in 2014, he discovered that his 16-year-old daughter was pregnant.

Upon inquiring, his daughter informed him that Mubanga was responsible and he summoned him. “In 2014, I summoned Mubanga but he did not come. In 2016, he impregnated my daughter for the second time and went into hiding,” he said. Mwape said last year, he summoned Mubanga, who admitted the damage allegation and was ordered to pay K3,000.

“On two occasions, Mwape has been paying in coins. At first, he paid K170 and last year, he paid K500 in coins as down payment,” he said
Mwape begged the court to order Mubanga to pay K2,500 for violating is daughter’s virginity.

And Mubanga told the court that he will pay the money and that he had no intentions of disrespecting Mwape.
Senior local court magistrate Leorntina Zaloumis and magistrate Margarete Sakalimba adjourned the matter for judgment.
