Zambezi magic this afternoon released a statement in response to the suspension of one of it’s locally produced shows called ‘Lusaka Hustle’
In the interest of the Zambian public, Zambezi Magic has requested the Independent Broadcast Authority (IBA) to review the content of Lusaka Hustle in line with the broadcasting code.
The Independent Broadcasting Authority in a statement following the suspension stated that it would not allow Multinational Pay Television Stations indirectly promote the gay agenda in Zambia.
The IBA further stated that it has under other legal provisions the ability to withdraw television programs that distort Zambia’s cultural values and principals, without issuing a warning.
This came after a social media uproar against a Multi-Choice program dubbed the “Lusaka Hustle”, which prompted religious affairs minister Godfridah Sumaili to direct IBA to withdraw the program that allegedly promotes homosexuality.
In an online statement Zambezi Magic went on to state that Lusaka Hustle is a locally-produced reality show which follows the lives of three Zambian celebrities who regularly appear on Zambian radio and television services.
Zambezi Magic is deeply respectful of Zambian law and as such, the show does not advocate or promote any particular lifestyle.
