Zambian DNA congratulates the ruling Patriot Front for scooping all the recently held local government by elections, it is however unfortunate that the Sesheke parliamentary by election was marred with unprecedented political violence perpetrated by opposition UPND, in league with some over zealous Police officers.

However, we urge the ECZ to up their game by addressing the root cause of political violence which is particularly perpetrated by a known political party every time there is a parliamentary or local government by election.

More so,  we are elated that the PF have decided to petition the election results in the just ended parliamentary election in Sesheke, which in our opinion , were neither free nor fair owing to the sickening political violence.

It is our view that, the ECZ have the mandate to bar any candidate of any political party that perpetuates violence regardless of their political affiliation.

But it is most unfortunate that the ECZ failed to do so in the Sesheke parliamentary by election allowing the opposition UPND to attack and intimidate innocent citizens.
