UPPZ President Charles Chanda has expressed disappointment over the PF government’ move to instruct police in Mansa to bar him from visiting the chiefs and the people in Mansa Luapula province on Monday and Tuesday.
Mr Chanda was warned against meeting anyone Mansa beside having served the police with a notice on time were initially changes were made from holding a meeting on Saturday to having activities of visitation and a meeting at the party provincial office on Tuesday.
This was all put aside as soon news of Mr Chanda arriving in Mansa was heard, PF officials among them Paul Chanda a ward chairperson and group were seen verbally attacking the officer in charge of Mansa central.
The police command then called for an agent meeting at 14:30hrs on Monday attended by UPPZ Luapula provincial chairperson Mr L Mumba, the provincial secretary, the UPPZ National Spokesperson, the officer in charge and his deputy and the deputy commissioner.
In the meeting the police announced the revocation and cancellation of the program sighting reason ranging from political tension to the accident that occurred in Nchelenge.
The UPPZ President president was set to met Chief Kalasa Lukangaba, Chief Mabumba Chief Chisunka and Chief Chimense.
Mr Chanda describe as barbaric and primitive PF government instructions through police demanding that he leaves within 2 minutes as their jobs were on line.
He says as peaceful leader who value the lives of Zambians didn’t want to cause any commotion in an area of his popularity were PF is insinuating the same but can’t allow others political parties to freely met supporters.
He wonders why other politicians like the PF can met chiefs in other area but could find comfort in barring him from meeting his Chiefs.
