Kambwili Survives Police Call Out Again

Embattled Political Animal CHISHIMBA Kambwili on Friday failed to appear for questioning at Lusaka police division headquarters as his lawyers claimed that he had no one to escort him.

Meanwhile, Zambia Republican Party (ZRP) president Wright Musoma has accused Mr Kambwili of playing hide and seek with the police.

The embattled Roan Member of Parliament was summoned by police in connection with his recent racial outbursts against a man believed to of Indian origin.

According to a callout dated February 21, 2019 and signed by deputy DCIO identified as Mr P. Sapaulu, Mr Kambwili was expected to appear at the police station at 14:00 hours yesterday.

But after Mr Kambwili did not show upat around 15:00 hours, police spokesperson Esther Katongo told Journalists that gathered at the police station that the Roan parliamentarian would not avail himself because there were no lawyers to accompanied him.

“As you are aware, we had summoned Mr Chishimba Kambwili to appear before the police today at 14:00 hours but we have just received communication in writing through his lawyers who have indicated that their client cannot come today because he doesn’t have a lawyer to accompany him as all of them were committed.

“So they have suggested three days but as police, we have settled for Monday next week at 10:00hours. So we are making a formal communication back to Mr Kambwili through his lawyers so that he can appear on Monday at 10:00 hours,” Ms Katongo said.

Meanwhile, Mr Musoma said Mr Kambwili must stop playing hide and seek with the police and be man enough to face consequences of his xenophobic attacks.

In an interview, Mr Musoma wondered how Mr Kambwili had no lawyers to escort him to police when one of his lawyers managed to deliver the letter on his behalf at the police station.

“How possible is it that he (Mr Kambwili) had no lawyers to escort him when one of his layers went to deliver a notification at the police station. The truth is that Chishimba Kambwili was just scared to be locked up today.

“He is playing games and let him stop playing hide and seek with the police if he is brave as he claims. He should just face the wrath of the law for his xenophobic attacks on foreigners,” Mr Musoma said.
