PF Expels 2 For Undermining Siliya and Daka

THE Patriotic Front has expelled the party’s aspiring candidate for Eastern Province chairmanship Elias Daka and the 2016 Petauke Central Constituency losing independent candidate Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda for among other things undermining sitting members of parliament in Msanzala and Petauke Central.

But Daka says he is not aware about his expulsion from the party.

Eastern Province PF chairperson Andrew Lubusha confirmed the development in an interview yesterday.

“It’s correct, Elias Daka and Jay Jay have been expelled from the party, not by me but by the party. The complainants in the matter; in Petauke
Central, it’s Hon Dora Siliya and in Msanzala it’s Hon Peter Daka who raised serious issues that Eliboma (Elias Daka) has been undermining him,” Lubusha said.

He said the two had been distributing party materials without authority from the party secretary general Davies Mwila.

“The complainants never wrote to me. They wrote to the secretary general and they only copied me. So I received direct instructions from the secretary general to write to Jay Jay and Elias Daka since they are not in party structures, they cannot be written to by the SG. They are under a member of the Central Committee in-charge of Eastern Province, so I was given the directive to expel them,” Lubusha said.

He said according to the Central Committee, any member of the PF who undermined an incumbent MP should be severely disciplined.

Lubusha said he was not a complainant in all the issues involving Daka and Jay Jay.

He said the case against Daka started well before he showed interest to contest the party’s
chairmanship.

Lubusha, however, said he was happy that 13 council chairpersons in the province had endorsed him for the position.

When asked for comment, Daka said he was not aware that he had been expelled from the party.

Daka had rated his chances of scooping the provincial chairmanship as bright while Jay Jay has been aspiring to become an MP for Petauke Central since 2016.
