ZAMBIAN High Commissioner to Kenya, Brenda Muntemba who was involved in a road traffic accident on Tuesday evening is in stable condition, her older sister Hazel Muntemba has confirmed.

Ms Muntemba was involved in a road accident, after the car she was travelling in collided head-on with an oncoming truck and trailer when the driver failed to give way despite police escort while that of Botswana’s Duke Lephoko rammed into Ms Muntemba’s car on the Nairobi-Mombasa highway. Ms Muntemba and her driver Joseph Gutu sustained injuries after the Toyota Prado which was being driven towards Nairobi collided head-on with a trailer.

Hazel said her sister was operated on in a surgery to stop suspected internal bleeding and later admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).“Right now she is out of theatre and in ICU. By the grace of God, she is stable and waiting to go to Nairobi,”Hazel said.

The Kenyan Government sent a military helicopter to evacuate Ms Muntemba from Machakos to Nairobi
