THE Patriotic Front has reversed the expulsion of Eastern Province PF chairmanship aspirant Elias Daka and Petauke Central Constituency aspirant Emmanuel Jay Jay Banda because the laid down procedure was not followed.

And Daka says the setting aside of his expulsion has proven that President Edgar Lungu is on top of things to promote intra party democracy.

According Eastern Province PF chairperson Andrew Lubusha, Daka (alias Eliboma) was expelled for allegedly undermining Msanzala member of parliament Peter Daka while Jay Jay was expelled for allegedly undermining Petauke Central parliamentarian Dora Siliya.

But in a turn of events, the expulsions have been reversed forthwith.

According to a letter dated February 26, 2019, written by Lubusha and addressed to Daka, the expulsion was null and void.

“I have received fresh instructions from the secretary general Hon Davies Mwila, therefore, be informed that my letter of expulsion dated 20 February 2019 has been withdrawn with immediate effect because the laid down procedure as per our party constitution was not followed,” stated Lubusha. “Natural justice demands that an accused person must be heard before the decision is taken. In this regard, kindly note that your expulsion is null and void. Furthermore, I have advised that [the] complainant, Hon Peter Daka, the sitting MP for Msanzala Constituency to complain to Msanzala Constituency chairman so that we allow the lower organ to deal with the matter.”

Asked to comment on the matter, Daka said the expulsion was an administrative hiccup.

“I am still a PF member, very loyal, who can participate in any programme of the party,” said Daka.
