Zambian DNA has noted with great concern how the Opposition political parties have abandoned their critical role of providing checks and balances to Government.

The Opposition political parties have instead chosen to shun participation in the process of addressing national critical issues meant to improve Zambian people’s welfare.

For example, the UPND Members of Parliament (MPs)’s planned boycott of participation in the constitutional –making process clearly demonstrates how they have abandoned their legislative role.

It’s also unfortunate that the opposition political party leaders have continued to incite Zambians to rise against their democratically elected Government, and deliberately fan chaos and confusion by perpetrating political violence.

More so, the said Opposition party leaders have taken turns in tarnishing the image of the country by peddling falsehoods against President Edgar Lungu, and speaking ill of their country.

However, President Edgar Lungu has demonstrated his statesmanship and tacit commitment to improve the welfare of the Zambian people by addressing critical national issues such as citizens’ empowerment initiatives and promoting peace and unity in the country anchored on ‘One Zambia One Nation.’
