The ‘Brave Warriors’ of Namibia, have arrived in Zambia ahead of their final Group K 2019 Africa Cup qualifiers match against Zambia to be played at National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday evening.

The team touched down Kenneth Kaunda International Airport on Thursday.

Namibian coach Ricardo Mannetti says the team’s objective remains to get a result against Zambia on Saturday. Mannetti will have to do without goalkeeper Edward Maova after he pulled out of the training camp that started on Monday with a concussion while three strikers were set to join the team to complete the 27-men training camp as Namibia prepares for the African Cup qualifier on March 23 against Zambia. The local-based Brave Warriors regrouped on Sunday and were joined by the rest of the foreign legion minus Sadney Urikhob, Benson Shilongo and Itamunua Keimuine who joined the camp yesterday.

“We are in charge of our destiny and we have to do it ourselves. We cannot rely on the results elsewhere. Saturday is our defining moment and Egypt 2019 is around the corner,” said Mannetti.

According to www.nfa.org.na, the team travels to Zambia today to continue their preparations for the crunch match. Four players will be trimmed from the 27-men squad. Namibia can qualify to the 2019 AFCON finals if they avoid defeat to Zambia or if they lose to Zambia and Mozambique lose or draws with Guinea Bissau. Guinea Bissau and Namibia lead Group K on eight points each with Mozambique in third place on seven points. Zambia is on four points, are out of the race.

The group winner and runner-up will qualify to the 32nd edition of the Total Africa Cup of Nations.
