Statement On UPND-Led Conceived Agenda For Regime Change

March 23, 2019

We, the consortium of non-governmental organizations and political parties, have noted with great concern how the UPND-led Alliance plans to persecute those in power once given a chance to govern, but lamentably fails to share their vision for the country.

This is evident from their scheme of dividing instead of unifying the nation through character-assassination and peddling falsehoods against Government officials.

More so, some media outlets hostile to Government’s assertion that those that gave President Edgar Lungu and the PF the mandate to govern are not of sound mind is an insult to the Zambian people’s collective intelligence.

What’s most appalling is the insults showered on the voters who would give the said Opposition leaders the mandate they seek to govern the country.

This is an orchestrated ‘Paint-President Lungu black ‘campaign, which is part of the Opposition political parties’ series of a scheme to agitate for regime change in an alliance with some media outlets hostile to Government.

It’s now abundantly clear that the said clique of Opposition leaders are not trustworthy to lead the country as they have proved that they are clueless and visionless.

However, President Lungu has demonstrated that he has a heart and vision for the country as he is empowering women, youth, and the vulnerable people and addressing critical issues affecting the people of Zambia.

In view of the foregoing, we strongly urge the Zambian people to have confidence in President Lungu as he means well for the country, and give the UPND-led Alliance leaders a deaf ear.
