Chief Justice Ireen Mambilima has ordered law firms still using names of sitting Judges to change by the end of July 2019 to avoid a perception of bias.
Justice Mambilima says the continued usage of names of Judges by law firms creates a perception that the judges have an interest in the law firms.
In a circular to lawyers issued yesterday, the Chief Justice said it has been realised that the practice of using names of sitting judges for law firms creates an impression that the judges benefit from the firms.
Ms Mambilima says this practice must come to an end by July 31, 2019.
Good observation & action Madam Chief Justice
