Vice President Inonge Wina has directed Disaster Management and Mitigation Unit -DMMU- National Coordinator, Chanda Kabwe to ensure funeral supplies and logistics are put in place to lessen the burden of families who have lost loved ones in the Solwezi accident.

The Vice President has since conveyed heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved families over the loss of lives in the tragic accident.

Mrs. Wina has also sent sympathises to the traditional leadership, Provincial Administration and the people of North-Western province.

On Wednesday night, 14 people died while 15 others are nursing serious injuries, after a Scorpion Solwezi bound bus hit into a stationary truck, on the Solwezi -Chingola road.

And the DMMU has urged motorists to take caution and adhere to safety standards to prevent loss of lives through road accidents.

This is according to a statement released to ZNBC News by DMMU communications officer, Racheal Mupanga.
