The Zambian immigration department at Livingston border has run out of forms for border passes.
Border passes are used by people who have no passports but just want to cross the border for a few days or hours. Typically, border passes are used by people who reside in border towns and cross border traders.
But the Zambia Immigration has had no such papers for the past two weeks due to lack of money. Immigration officials at the border are telling stranded traders and other travelers that they are still waiting for headquarters in Lusaka to send the forms.
Those who need to travel urgently are being told to go and apply to the immigration regional boss but the said boss has not been going to the office for the past two weeks. He is said to be attending workshops.
