Statement On HH’s Scheme To Use CK As Political Stepping Stone

April 27, 2019

Zambians will reject NDC-UPND alliance to form government in 2021 as it’s premised on a selfish- driven agenda that lacks a vision for the country.

Indeed, NDC and UPND alliance is a failed project that is only interested in forming government even without a common development agenda to improve the Zambian people’s welfare.

Since Hakainde Hichilema can never accept any position other than that of the Republican President, he has identified Chishimba Kambwili as someone he can use as a stepping stone to get to State House after GBM’s exit.

It’s not surprising that NDC’s presumptive presidential candidate for 2021 (Kambwili) has accepted to serve under the UPND leader who does not respect his deputies.

However, we advise Kambwili that his alliance partner will sideline and dump him just like he did to GBM after losing the 2021 polls for a straight record  of six times.

We have noted with dismay how insatiable appetite for power without a vision for the country has made the UPND leader lose elections several times.

The NDC –UPND alliance lost the Bahati seat to the PF and they should not become big-headed for scooping the Roan parliamentary seat.

But Kambwili should instead draw a lesson from UPND, which lost elections to President Edgar Lungu in 2015 and 2016, respectively, despite winning over 56 parliamentary seats.

Moreover, Zambians prefer a government formed by a single political party as it is the case with the PF and other previous political parties that formed government, and not an alliance of political parties.

So, it’s a sheer waste of time and resources for the NDC and UPND to form an alliance as they stand to be rejected at the ballot box in 2021.

We also advise NDC-UPND alliance to sober up and stop day-dreaming that they would form government in 2021 as Zambians would still vote for PF, which is a single political party with a clear transformative developmental agenda for the country.
