“I’M willing to work under someone unlike Chishimba Kambwili and Harry Kalaba who are power-hungry,” former UPND vice president Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) has said.

And Mr Mwamba says power comes from God and that God’s time was the best.

According to PF Northern Province youth secretary Chanda Nsofu Mr Mwamba was speaking yesterday at Prefix Hotel in Kasama when he and his team met the Patriotic Front (PF) provincial officials.

Mr Mwamba said Mr Kambwili, who is National Democratic Congress (NDC) consultant, and Mr Kalaba, who is Democratic Party (DP) president, had rushed to form their own political parties because they were power-hungry.

“I am willing to work under someone. I am not as power-hungry as Kambwili and Kalaba who rushed to form their own political parties.

“In fact, power comes from God. It’s God who gives people power and God’s time is the best time. For God is never late but always on time,” Mr Mwamba said.

He said one of the reasons for his return to the PF was that Michael Sata, the founding father of the PF party, loved him so much that he gave him many privileges to serve both in the ruling party and the government.

Mr Mwamba said he was one of the people who contributed a lot to the PF’s victory in the 2011 elections after which the party formed government.

He said his ‘Operation Dismantle UPND’ was both a short-term and long-term programme that will run up to the 2021 elections.

Mr Mwamb a declared that he would visit every ward, constituency, district and province in Zambia to destroy the opposition UPND. He said he would persuade UPND members to join the PF.

And welcoming Mr Mwamba, PF Northern Province chairperson Chungu Bwalya, who is Lupososhi Member of Parliament, said he was delighted that GBM and his huge number of followers had returned to the PF.

Mr Bwalya said it was not just a great delight to himself but the entire PF Northern Province membership.

He said the PF in the province had received GBM and his followers with both hands and was just preparing to welcome him properly at the right time after everything had been put in place.

Mr Mwamba was accompanied by former UPND chairman for mobilisation under the vice president’s office Everest Chella, former UPND Kasama district chairman Jailos Tembo and former UPND Kasama vice youth chairman Frank Mbewe.

Others were former UPND Lukashya Constituency chairman Chrispin Chola, former UPND Munali information and publicity secretary David Munkonge, his personal assistant Chanda Kapasa and his press assistant Timothy Kabwe.
