Miners will Not lose their jobs in KCM, like it happened in Chiluba’s Era when mines were privatized, EEP Secretary General Stanely Malama has said.
Malama says President Edgar Lungu is NOT that heartless to cause job losses in the mines especially at a time like this, when his own people are ever complaining of economic hardship.
“Would he want to cause more pain to the people who elected him to serve them in dignity? The answer is No. I know I may not agree with him in many things but on this one Miners ought not to worry because is on their side,” he said.
President Lungu is a lawyer and he understands the difference between liquidation and receivership and it’s negative impact on his own people so for him to choose liquidation is the best option to achieve the objective of keeping the mine running and securing jobs for miners.
Let’s ignore the people making noise about KCM because no one knows the plans that the government has for KCM am sure there must be an investor on standby, ready to move in, which is why receivership was not considered.
Let’s hope for the best and stop issuing statement that are against the liquidation of KCM when deep down our hearts we know that KCM has done no good to the people of Zambia and the move taken by the government is the best.
