‘Church Role In National Development Vital’

Government will continue to value and cherish the role the Church plays in contributing to national development. Lundazi district council chairperson Margaret Msimuko says the Church is working in partnership with Government to ensure maternal and child deaths are reduced in Lundazi.

Ms Msimuko was speaking when the Church of Central African Presbyterian (CCAP) donated eight delivery beds worth K28, 000 to Lundazi District Hospital meant to supplement the State’s effort in improving health service delivery. She said the donation has come at the right time when health facilities in the district have inadequate delivery beds making the work of staff difficult, as they opt to use the normal beds for delivery.

The donated beds will be distributed to health facilities which include Lundazi District Hospital, Mankhaka, Mchereka, Lundazi Urban and Ndaiwala health centres. And CCAP Parish minister Abednego Kunda disclosed that the donation, which has been sponsored by the Southern Sun Hotel Social club headed by the chairperson Suzyo Nyika, is a gesture to support Government in providing quality health services. And Lundazi district health director Davy Zulu commended CCAP for the gesture. Dr Zulu said Government expects such gesture from cooperating partners and appealed
