“The Vehicle Crashed Into The Bedroom Where The Baby Was Sleeping,” A Terrified Mazabuka Mother Recounts

A family of Mazabuka’s Kabobola Madipa residential area slept with a large portion of their house exposed after a suspected drunk driver lost control of his Toyota Noah and crashed into their house last evening.

The incident happened around 20:00 Hours after Field Munda, a resident of the same area drove his vehicle, registration number, ALJ 7169 into Chisha Mutambo’s house and damaged some goods.

Kennedy Bwembya, who witnessed the incident unfold told a Byta FM News crew that the vehicle narrowly missed some people before it smashed into one of the bedrooms of the house in what could have been a fatal accident.

Bwembya explained that an angry mob descended on the driver of the vehicle and started beating him, only to be whisked away by good Samaritans.

There were no casualties in the accident.

And Mutambo, the owner of the house expressed sadness at the development and told Byta FM News that she was shocked after hearing a big sound, only to find a vehicle in one of the bedrooms.

“The vehicle hit into the bedroom where a baby was sleeping,” she explained while confused.

She said that the incident has caused destruction to property worth thousands of Kwacha hence she wants justice in the matter.
