Lungu Does Not Trust The NDF

Republican Progressive Party (RPP) vice president Leslie Chikuse says the puissant for the Church-led National  Dialogue by progressive Zambian minds will not vanish until the course is achieved.

He said real healing in the country will only come from the Church-led National Dialogue as envisaged by the Siavonga Resolutions.
Appearing on Millennium Radio’s Talk at 6 programme, Mr Chikuse said the Church-led dialogue process is the way to go as it will bring true healing, following a spat that was triggered by the 2016 disputed elections.
He said since time immemorial, the Church has been advocates of social justice, so they can be trusted in building strong and proper reconciliation as opposed to the congregants of the National Dialogue Forum (NDF)
The RPP vice president said he and others that shunned the controversial NDF have been vindicated because nothing progressive in terms of coming up with a Constitution that would stand the test of time and proper electoral reforms come out of the “failed course”.
Mr Chikuse said RPP shunned the National Dialogue Forum because of its composition that was “highly questionable and extremely biased” towards the ruling party.
“…Even President Lungu said he will listen to what the people of Zambia will say over the NDF resolutions,” Mr Chikuse said.
In Lungu’s own words, he does not believe in the NDF, more so that it disregarded his orders of not “to omit or add any clause” of the Siavonga Resolutions.
Accordingly, the issue of Deputy Ministers and Coalition Government were not part of the Siavonga Resolutions but were sneaked into the forum.
Chikuse said on the programme produced by Juliet Makwama that his party is against the Deputy Ministers’ clause as it is retrogressive and a burden to the collapsing economy.
