FIVE pupils and an adult have appeared in court for allegedly defiling two girls in separate cases. The juveniles, aged between 15 and 17, are alleged to have defiled the girls between November 24, 2018 and May this year in Lusaka. It is alleged in the first case that the four juveniles on November 24, 2018, jointly and whilst acting together, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16.
In the other matter, Bright Tembo, 32, and a 15-year-old pupil, both of Kabanana Township, are alleged to have on May 18 this year, jointly and whilst acting together, had unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl under the age of 16. Chief resident magistrate Lameck Mwale allocated the case involving the four pupils to magistrate Albert Mwaba but they (four) were not before court when their names were called out. The case involving Tembo and a 15–year-old pupil has been allocated to magistrate Nsunge Chanda.
The accused will appear for plea. Meanwhile, a 32-year-old security guard and a tool-fixer have appeared in the Lusaka Magistrate Court on a charge of conspiracy to commit a felony. In this matter, Miti Lyambai and Simangolwa Muyatwa, between March 29 and April 4 this year, jointly and whilst acting together with other unknown persons, allegedly conspired to commit a felony by practising slavery or human trafficking. Chief resident magistrate Lameck Mwale allocated the matter to Judith Chiyayika.
In another matter, two juveniles of Chilenje and Bauleni townships are in court for allegedly breaking into a church with intent to commit a felony. The juveniles, aged 19 and 17, are alleged to have, on June 3 this year, jointly and whilst acting together with others unknown, broken and entered into the Reformed Church in Zambia (RCZ) and stolen three iron bars valued at K480
