Chess Federation of Zambia(CFZ) Patron Chitalu Chilufya says his vision is for Zambia to produce many grand masters(International chess champions).
In addition to that, Chilufya who is Health Minister said he wants the country to have a chess culture at early childhood level.

“They call it(chess) a minor sport but it works wonders with cognitive development, the ability to think and inculcating calculative minds in our children. I have very big passion for chess and my vision is for Zambia to have many grand masters and we should have a chess culture at early childhood,” Chilufya said.
The Health Minister said he is motivated by his passion for chess.
“It is about passion for the game. I have been a chess player for many years … You know, I stopped playing competitive chess many years back but the passion for the game is there,” he said.
Chilufya added that his ambition is to make chess more popular than it was in the olden days.
“Chess was a strong game in Zambia many years back and we need to put it where it should be,” he said.
