A Zambia Air Force officer has told the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court that he was instructed to supervise construction works for a two storey building and a gym in Ibex Hill allegedly belonging to former ZAF Commander Lieutenant General Eric Chimese.
The State witness however admitted that he did not see ZAF employees working on site.
In this matter, Chimese is charged with one count of abuse of authority of office and another count of possession of properties reasonably suspected to be proceeds of crime.
He is jointly charged with his wife Sharon grey and Director of Chita Lodges Limited, James Chungu.
Chungu is alleged to have given false information to public officers stating that the properties allegedly belonging to Chimese are owned by Chita Lodges Limited.
Chimese’s wife is facing charges of money laundering.
