Recycling in the context of environmental protection, saves us money in a long run, provides us with healthy environment.
However, another kind of recycling that makes us poor, inculcates a culture of impunity and which threatens our existence as a modern nation state.
Iam talking about recycling of mediocre, incompetent, uninspiring and quiet possible, criminal officials in government or civil service. 90% of our MPs must not be recycled (re-elected) in 2021.
Despite the country being in limbo, Our MPs considers themselves successful without shame. All our MPs become rich the first 6 months they are elected while their voters, 6 months is the beginning of their long five (5)year suffering. By the end of a five year term all MPs be it ruling or Opposition are fabulously wealthy.
All MPs must stop the use of state jobs as instruments of patronage to reward political friends, families and business partners.
They must see these jobs as being central to our social and economic development project and therefore award them to the most deserving, intelligent and most committed in our society.
Our MPs abuse their connections and mostly they don’t make appointments strictly on the basis of value such as integrity, intelligence and commitment, I can say the purpose of power today is not development but destruction.
Zambia has no shortage of young, driven, moral individual of whatever political persuasion and ethnicity who can raise the bar of public duty.
Who Wil understand success to mean transforming lives and communities. Who Wil take their personal reputation on the social and economical progress they bring about.
These are the people who can panel beat our concept of public duty and bring it down in line with our constitutional and economic aspiration.
