Transparency International Zambia has demanded that the process of investigating Road Transport and Safety Agency Chief Executive Officer Zindaba Soko be done in an independent and transparent manner.
TIZ president, Rueben Lifuka in an interview with Phoenix News says whenever corruption or money laundering occurs, it must be investigated thoroughly regardless of the person involved.
Mr Lifuka has since called on the drug enforcement commission to extend its investigations to everyone connected to the RTSA boss.
Mr. Soko is being investigated by the drug enforcement commission on unknown charges.
Earlier this week The Drug Enforcement Commission Commissioner Alita Mbahwe said that the Commission is investigating Mr. Soko on unknown charges but suspected to be related to money laundering.
She said the search conducted at midnight was for possible evidence related to the charges which will lead to his questioning and arrest.
The DEC Boss said the raid on Mr. Soko’s house was a normal procedure that can be undertaken on any person suspected of crime adding that the nation will be informed on the next course of action.
