A 46-YEAR-OLD man of Kalingalinga Compound in Lusaka has killed his young brother aged 38 accusing him of stealing his money, K780.

The duo were living in the same house.

Edward Tembo is said to have returned from a drinking spree around 23:45 hours on Friday night and picked a quarrel with Raphael Tembo, his young brother over missing money.

In the ensuing exchange that had now exploded into a fight, Edward picked an iron bar and hit the his brother, inflicting deep cuts on the his head.

“It is alleged that the deceased stole money amounting to K780 from the accused and a fight ensued when the accused person returned from a drinking spree,”Katongo told #Kalemba in a statement.

Police have since arrested Edward and is detained in Police custody while the body of the deceased has been deposited in University Teaching Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.
