A-43-year-old peasant farmer in Simeo Mwanakonde in Kasama has committed suicide, after allegedly failing to settle a five kwacha he was owing his sister for the beer he got from her on credit.
Village Headman, Benard Chanda has confirmed the sad development to Mano News and identified the deceased as Mathews Kasenge.
Mr Chanda alleges that Kasenge differed with his sister over the credit and that in turn went home and hanged himself at the sitting room using a mosquito-net, after he chased his wife from the house.
The Village Headman added that one of the deceased’s body was discovered around 21:00 hours by one of his children after he entered the house.
Mr Chanda said the deceased who has left behind a wife and six children has since been put to rest at Simeo Mwanakonde cemetery.
