PF Boss Tells Off Kitwe DC Binwell Mpundu, Kang’ombe

The Ruling Patriotic Front has rejected 4 out of the 14 resolutions that were adopted at the recently held National Dialogue Forum.

This follows the Central Committee meeting which was chaired by Party President Edgar Lungu held on the 8th July, 2019 which deliberated on among other things the proposed amendments to the constitution.

PF Secretary General Davies Mwila revealed this when he addressed the media at the PF secretariat in Kitwe today.

The rejected resolutions include the proposal to amend the preamble by deleting multi religious replacing it with Christian word, proposal to amend the system on voting of the President to include the possibility of forming of a coalition government and re-introduction of the office of Deputy Minister.

Mr Mwila says the committee also proposed that the period in which a civil servant is required to cease being a civil servant before seeking elections be reduced to six months from the proposed two years.

He says the Party is aware of the lies, malice and falsehood being championed by the opposition and what he termed as surrogates in the civil society and the media against the party leadership regarding the NDF resolutions.

Mr Mwila has since emphasized that the NDF was not a PF gathering as speculated in some sections of the media adding that the party will soon appear at a Parliamentary Committee to present its position on NDF resolutions.

Meanwhile, Mr Mwila has challenged Kitwe District Commissioner Binwell Mpundu and Kitwe Mayor Christopher Kangombe to resign from their position if they have political ambitions to stand as Nkana Member Of Parliament and Wusakile Constituency respectively.

Mr Mwila said the District Commissioner should deist from causing confusion in the party stating all Civil Servants with ambitions to stand should resign from their positions.
