Police in Lusaka have formerly arrested Womba Samakayi, a resident of Lusaka whose 3 dogs mauled an 8 year old boy to death in Ndeke Meanwood on Sunday.
Zambia Police Public Relations Officer Esther Katongo said Mr.Samakayi has been officially Charged and arrested for the offence of Criminal reckless and negligent Acts Contrary to Section 237(d) Cap 87 of the laws of Zambia.
She said Mr. Samakayi has since been released on Police Bond.
Yesterday, 3 vicious dogs belonging to Mr. Samakayi attached and killed 8 year old Gift Phiri of Meanwood area in Lusaka after the owner opened the gate to his house so that he could drive in.
The dogs were later gunned down by police and Mr. Samakayi’s taken to safety following threats of damage to his house by an incensed crowd.
