A state witness has testified that Mildred Luwaile a ZAF officer accused of assaulting her niece used to pour hot water on her and burn her with hot kitchen utensils.
Testifying before Magistrate Thandose Chabala, Major Patson Hanaumba told the court that on April 12, she found the victim in a ladies toilet at ZAF Mess Twin palm soaked in wet cloths and shivering.
He says after interviewing her, the girl refused to go back to her auntie’s place because of the torture by her aunt.
In this matter, Luwaile is facing one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
If found guilty and convicted, Luwaile risk serving a maximum jail term of five years
